Blake stitched into a beautiful leather and rubber combined sole, a superior construction method yielding numerous benefits, including maximum sole flexibility for exceptional comfort and fashionable aesthetics.
To create a distressed, urban look, this style also undergoes an exclusive antiquing process called stone washing, consisting of washing the shoe in open washing machines filled with water and pumice stones.
The shades of uneven intensity are then emphasised through careful waxing and brushing.

Our LENNOX shoes and boots are also hand-dyed and stonewashed and treated for a worn-in, distressed look, so don’t need to be kept pristine. They are meant to be lived in and become part of your story. The more worn-in, the cooler they become, displaying a lifetime of memories and stories.
That said, regularly caring for your shoes will nourish them, increasing their softness, water resistance and comfort. And, it goes without saying, the more you care for your shoes, the longer they will last.

OMG. This is going to be long.
Took me a while to choose my first ever Untamed and first proper welted in fact. I fell for the colour and cut, and in need of a winter pair anyway, so I opted for one of the most expensive options.
Why I settled on Untamed in the first place? I've been shopping around for month online and off.
Here's my reasons:
CONSTRUCTION – only resole-friendly, welted or Blake stitched, using proper leather and craft, thank you. There are lot's of good options, some cheaper by a large margin, mind you.
NO-NONSENSE PRICING – I appreciate their pricing policy, no sales, outlet, black Friday, fathers' day special malarky. You get what you pay for. No regrets when your prized pair pops up half price a month later. I like that.
AESTHETICS – Now this was the dealmaker for me. Whoever is behind the design of these shoes deserves a raise. There are many decent shoe options out there. My suede Velasca loafers are bellissime, giving hyped Ferragamos a run for their Euros. Myrqvists are interesting. OldMullas seem honest and very fairly priced.
But still, giving traditional models a funky contemporary twist without going way overboard, bending the rules so effortlessly, using materials and shapes so creatively – Untamed is in a category of its own. Perfectly balanced form, function, materials, proportions, an equilibrium of seriousness and casual charm.
Now the nail-biting saga of my Lenoxes:
Unboxing in the evening at low light, I felt underwhelmed. The colour looked more brownish than expected, the toe box in my size (12/46) seemed long and narrow, the handmade imperfections more glitches than cool features.
I put it on, the right one, my longer foot (30.3mm). Squeezy, my big toe touching the front, the usual shoe horror, story of my lifetime, living between sizes, on the teetering edge of EU 46 and 47, having to put up with either tight coffins or spacious boats on my feet.
Boots shoved straight back in the box, let me sleep over it and check the return policy.
Next morning I give them another try, this time lacing up both left and right. Tight, rigid, my feet set in concrete. A little wiggle room in the left one though, not so much like the Spanish boots of mediaeval torture fame. Okay, let me walk around on the carpet, they'll be still pristine enough to return.
Not THAT bad. Okay, ten more minutes while I potter around.
In half an hour I realise I'm wearing boots in the house, going up and down stairs, doing household chores. Sh+t, how am I going to return them now? And why should I? They fit PERFECTLY. Like some custom last bespoke shoes, I imagine, that you need to take out a second mortgage for. The quarter is giving way around the ankles, somehow the leather is getting supple and hugging my feet.
The details and handcraft are superb. The sole is so solidly built, you can almost smell the sweat of the bloke who hammered it together. The dark leather piping that runs all along the top of the quarter complements the strong welt. The way the quarter folds on the vamp with a double stitch, how the heel cup and vamp converge so close, the lack of backstay, the extra stitches that accentuate the proportions, the waxed laces (extra pair in the box, 'cause you are planning to retire before your boots do) – wow!
Moral of the story: these pairs are worth every extra penny, pound, shilling and sovereign, they run true to size, form to your feet, nothing like the usual store-bought, cemented sole, fast fashion counterfeits they nickname shoes.
I'm onboard, no second thoughts, can't wait to save up for a lighter pair for my next Untamed.
LENNOX chestnut ankle boots are a nice mix of dressy and rugged. The color works with most outfits. Looks great with denim.
The LENNOX dark moss suede boots are lowkey but cool. They have a soft finish and feel solid. I wear them on chill days.
