BLACK FRIDAY. IT'S A WOOZY.

THE BLACK FRIDAY TRUST ISSUE.

If you feel a profound distrust for the Black Friday deals, you are not alone. The risk of being lured into emptying your bank account for products that you neither want nor need in the long-run has always been high. But in recent years the phenomenon has taken an evil twist, with retailers purposely deceiving customers by promoting heavily discounted low-quality products that were never meant to be sold at full retail price. So, how do you know when what looks like a deal is actually a dud?

THOSE BLACK FRIDAY DEALS? NOT AS GOOD AS YOU THINK.

Black Friday can be overwhelming. While it's the seemingly perfect time to save big on those holiday presents, it can be hard to differentiate the great deals from the deceiving ones. Good authentic Black Friday bargains still exist, but they are limited in number and hard to find. And more often than not, they are just used by retailers to drum up hype and get customers through the doors. In fact, the sleazy practice of advertising ‘doorbuster deals’ which only have a few pieces in stock is predominant in the industry.

A BLACK FRIDAY REALITY CHECK.

So how about the remaining deals? You can find some good quality products at a low sticker price, mostly because it’s actually last year’s fashion or the style is going out of production because it isn’t selling well. And while there isn’t necessarily anything wrong with buying an older version of something, retailers aren’t often transparent about that.

But there is a growing practice which is even more questionable, with retailers planning months in advance dedicated productions of low-quality, de-spec ranges that are (briefly) offered at grossly inflated prices to be heavily discounted during Black Friday so that holiday deals appear even more impressive. These are products that should have been sold at a lower price from the start, rather than being advertised as ‘hot deals’ to take advantage of shoppers' misperceptions and assumptions.

NO BLACK FRIDAY, FAIR PRICES EVERY DAY.

At UNTAMED STREET we see things differently. We believe that luxury products should be priced ethically and fairly all year round. We strive to change the way people engage with high-quality products, creating an answer to the luxury trend of inflated pricing, built-in obsolescence, and perma-sale mindset.

We don’t do Winter sales, Summer sales, Spring sales, pre-season sales, Black Friday, Single Day, flash sales, etc.

Unlike traditional retail, we manage all aspects of production, from design to quality assurance. By offering products directly to you, we are able to eliminate costly factors such as middlemen, retail operations, inventory, and high overhead. All the savings are passed on to you. Which is why are our prices are about half of those of traditional luxury retail. 365 days a year.
