Handcrafted in Italy from vegetable-tanned buffalo leather, the JOLENE boots are Blake-stitched, a superior construction method that yields numerous benefits, including enhanced sole flexibility for exceptional comfort and fashionable aesthetics. The JOLENE collection features a beautiful, hand-built leather outsole, with an elaborate carved lug, ruggedly distressed and hand-milled for added character.
The dimensional, tonal finish is the result of a meticulous artisanal process, which starts with the hand-dyeing of natural leather and sees additional layers of dye gradually applied by hand once the shoe is stitched together. In this particular style, the vamps are laminated, a process that adds a metallic and glossy finish to the leather, enhancing its visual appeal. Hand-inserted leather knots and stripes, artfully set up, complete this style with beautiful geometric patterns.
To create a distressed, urban look, this style also undergoes an exclusive antiquing process called stone washing, consisting of washing the shoe in open washing machines filled with water and pumice stones. The shades of uneven intensity are then emphasised through careful waxing and brushing.
